The Hosting School
The "Bundesgymnasium and Bundesrealgymnasium Judenburg" (BG/BRG Judenburg) has the honor to welcome CEI delegates from all over the world in Judenburg, Styria.
The BG/BRG Judenburg is a lower and upper grammar school with approx. 850 students and 75 teachers in different fields and subjects. A comprehensive and general education for a wide range of students is offered at the BG/BRG Judenburg. The most important values at school are: respect of each other, tolerance, solidarity, conducted democracy and cosmopolitism.
Students start the BG/BRG Judenburg at the age of 10 and finish school with the leaving certificate at the age of 18. The school offers a wide range of subjects in different fields: science, sports, arts, languages, humanities. In lower grades students can focus their studies either on languages (bilingual courses in English, French or Latin, social skills) or on science (geometry, information technology, science, bilingual courses are offered too). In higher grades students can also focus on different fields: Information Technology, languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Latin), Music and Arts (musical projects, exhibitions, dance, fotography and film, CD-productions) Science and Nature (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, modern laboratory techniques, PC-supported experiments, bilingual science courses, preparatory courses for medical studies at university.
At the end of the final year students graduate with a thesis (written and oral form) and the centralised final exams.
Furthermore the school offers boarding facilities in the afternoon and has participated in different national and international projects (2 Comenius Projects 2010-2014, Erasmus+ Project, regular participant of the Caretakers of the Environment International Conference, certified UNESCO school. The school is also equipped with a modern IT-infrasturcture: computers and projectors in all classes, whiteboards, 69 iPads, 3d-printer, , science-, biology-, chemistry- and physics laboratory with high-tech equipment and it is a nationally certified e-learning-school and some of the higher classes are lap-top classes.
In order to support specially gifted and skilled students BG/BRG Judenburg offers courses that prepare for language certificates (CAE, DELF, DELE, DILI, etc.) and science certificates (Maths, Physics, Science)
Students from the BG/BRG Judenburg come from all social classes and also from minorities. The school has also installed a special team that is responsible for social crisis handling at school, however there is no responsible team that handles social inclusion Problems.
